This municipality is surrounded by Dahisar Check Naka,
the dense forests of Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Ghodbunder Fort, Vasai
Creek, Uttan, and Gorai Beach, covering a total area of 79.40 square
kilometers. This naturally beautiful city is known as Mira Bhayander.

As the population grew, the municipality was upgraded
to a municipal corporation on February 28, 2002. According to the 2011
Census, the total population of Mira Bhayander was 8,09,378, and it has been
steadily increasing with urban development. As the city grows, the population
is almost doubling, putting pressure on the available civic services and
infrastructure of the municipal corporation. While providing civic amenities
becomes challenging at times, the municipal corporation is striving to offer
maximum services to the residents.
